Testing the Berlin Asphalt
It all starts at kilometer 38 (or maybe six months earlier)
For our runners, it all began at kilometer 38. 27 degrees Celsius (), the sun beating down, legs heavier than they’ve ever been, and the mind starting to play tricks. It’s that moment when you ask yourself: “Why am I doing this?”
Although, to be honest, the story started much earlier: six months ago, with the preparation for the Berlin Marathon. Weeks of training, hundreds of kilometers accumulated, and countless hours running in the ZERO Minted ICE shoes. Because your footwear trains with you, too.
Then the big day arrived. Berlin. An incredible atmosphere. It wasn't just the cheering crowd, the firefighters spraying water to cool the runners, the impromptu street music groups, or that neighbor on her balcony who never stopped applauding. It was impossible not to be moved by an experience like that.
Our two runners lived it: over four hours of effort, self-doubt, heat, but also smiles and that feeling of running with thousands of friends you’ve never met, yet who cheer for you as if you were family.
In the middle of all that, the most important thing emerged: Confidence. Confidence in oneself, in the mind, in the body... and also in the shoes. This marathon was the ultimate test for the ZERO Minted ICE, which didn't just form part of the gear, but became true running companions, enduring every kilometer of the course.
Both the ZERO Minted ICE and the upcoming model, the ZERO Black, demonstrated their character on the Berlin asphalt: cushioning, responsiveness, and stability combined to give them what they needed most in those key moments—the assurance that every step was protected, that they could maintain their pace, and that pursuing their limits was possible without compromise.
Because in the end, running isn't just about times or kilometers; it’s about confidence. Confidence in yourself, in those cheering from the sidelines, in the music that pushes you when you can't go any further, and yes, also in a pair of shoes that end up becoming part of your story.
Your shoes are the tool that supports every challenge, from a long Sunday run to the marathon you always dreamed of finishing. Because, just like Berlin, they aren't only built for speed: they're built to give you confidence.
